My father has been dead for years. We got a new house. When we called Withlacoochee Electric to get the power turned on there, the agent on the phone, "Lily", stated that to remove my father from the billing, they would need his death certificate.

When my disabled 82 year old mother explained that we didn't want him on the bill at all, so we shouldn't need this, the agent stated that she did not believe my mother was who she said she was, and demanded that we make a 5 hour drive to their office to sign up for service.

My mother was not rude to Lily. She didn't do anything that should have deserved such a dismissive response.

Absolutely appalling. By what means did Lily come to the conclusion that my mother was not who she said she was? To me, this feels like a total power trip. Congratulations, Lily, and Withlaccoochee, for flexing on an 82 year old disabled woman. You truly have the power.

This has happened 3 times now . I go out of town for a month and they magically cut off your electric without any type of communication. No e mail, no text, No Voice mails. ( they claim they left one the day before disconnecting) lie . My bill was 11 days past the due date. How is they even legal to just show up on your door step and cut your electric ! People should sue this company for negligence and scamming folks for money. $75 reconnection fee. The gentlemen today was on my ring camera knocked once and took off to his truck. Not even worth 1 star if I had to mention them. They are worse than any company I have ever seen in my life.

I know they're a utility company, and it's almost hardwired for people to just automatically want to hate electric companies, and I'm not saying I'm a fan of electric companies by any means, but I AM saying that every time I call them and speak to them about literally anything, they are some of the NICEST people ever. It's not their fault if something goes wrong with your billing. Remember: these are just people working a job, they aren't robots. They will do everything they can to help you out and answer your questions as much as they are able to. Compliance is a thing, so they may not always be able to help you with some questions, but I promise you the people who work at WREC are still human beings, they understand what you're going through and they will do their best to make things right. I applaud them for their excellent customer service.

This is a very poorly run company. I can confirm the wait times on the phone that other customers are mentioning in their reviews. The hold times are unacceptable and can be up to a full hour. I can also confirm the exorbitant fees, poor customer service, and lack of proper maintenance of the grid, which results in brown-outs way too frequently.

This company has a lot of problems and they are simply not servicing the community properly. It is time for a change and we need to do something about this. WREC needs to be reformed or replaced.

I'm disappointed that we have no choice but to remain with this electric company due to our location. If I had the option, I would switch immediately. The customer service experience has been unsatisfactory; many representatives are unprofessional and lack basic communication skills.

The company has a troubling billing structure, including a monthly "customer charge" of $39 in addition to usage fees. This charge seems unjust, as the initial hookup was already paid for when the house was built, and I believe we should only pay for our actual usage. Maintenance costs should be covered by the profits generated from our usage.

I find it alarming that such a charge exists, and I'm currently documenting my experience with screenshots and emails. When I inquired about the "customer charge," I was told it was for maintaining the infrastructure, yet I have not seen any evidence of this maintenance. Paying an annual membership fee of $400 for such poor service is frustrating. I am concerned about the company's practices.

Too bad WREC cannot hire competent people to answer phones who actually want to work.
I’ve tried calling the Dade City Office for over 1/2 hour, I even called marked private , it makes no difference, they simply DO NOT ANSWER!!
I had a simple question but holding for over 1/2 of an hour is INEXCUSABLE!! 8:20-8:54am!!!!
Do better WREC!!
Spring Hill is no better, but Dade City definitely takes the cake !

After Hurricane Milton hitting last night and causing over 3 million to lose power in Florida WREC was able to get the entire Royal Highlands power back up and running within the day following, insane!! They are truly a blessing and the Hero’s that go unrecognized so I wanted to leave a review to show them how grateful we all are for the work that they do!!❤️
