I currently attend at the school and I must say that the staff is very much unprofessional and unorganized. This school definitely don’t care about the education the student receive! A professor had passed and I was never notified and had to miss 3 weeks of class due to my work schedule being made 3 weeks prior. I’m now being penalized for the 3 weeks i missed because the death of a professor which is not fair. I spoke to dean hacker and Hamilton and was told out their own mouth that it was a mistake on their end and nothing could be done. All imma say is go to a real university and don’t waist your money nor time with this school!

Been attending this school, and all my professors have actually been pretty cool except for professor Cherie Ward, do not take her class, she is the only one who cannot teach, and does not seem to know how to use Blackboard, maybe because of her age, not sure, but everyone else is cool, it is affordable, and flexible for someone working full time during the day.

I’m rating this as a parent and seeing/ listening in the background. My son has been here for almost 3 yrs and this is my observation. The professors in this school are great makes the subject entertaining even the boring ones, but the advisors here the ones that my son had are the worst and he had two his first one never helped him set up his first yr and when I called to see if he can have a new advisor they said no and he just has to wait even when I complained. His second advisor also never answer emails and we can never sign up for classes bc he never unlocks his account, until last minute and all the classes are full. Oh and doesn’t show up on time for meeting that they themselves set up for the student but when the student is late they turn them away. Advises the student to switch school bc they messed up and made my son take the same class and waste a year. When he asked for help they just sent him off to the career counselor that don’t listen and even after 3 phone meetings talking about the same thing he told her what he wants and he doesn’t have classes registered and she just says well next meeting I have a 2 o’clock.. when you call the school to complain they don’t help they just say well you have to write an email to them and wait. Also the school doesn’t deal with parents they can only talk to ur child even if he’s next to me. And if that’s not true, someone needs to talk to the student center staff.

Do not go here! Poor communication, lack of compassion and organization. Horrible first college experience. Take your money some place that will invest in you!

Update: I still feel the same way a year later! If you can DO NOT attend this school, there are better options! It will be much worth it in the end! Spare yourself the negative experience!!!!!!

I went to school here for my AA and it was a breeze. Yes the admissions needs some work (never fixed it) but the education, the teachers and the school itself is fine. It's so affordable and you can always learn something new. I got a paid internship through UDC and even though with it's slight hiccups, this school is still great. I'm at the main campus now working on my Bachelors and I'm 16 classes shy of finishing. Don't pay the haters any mind.

Worst administration I have ever had to deal with. Not only do they never respond to email or phone calls, they can't even keep track of ELECTRONIC applications, that required my daughter to submit 3 times and be forced enrolled late into classes due to their incompetence. But they also can't even have the literacy to read the applications correctly to charge the correct rate to students.

They went ahead to charge not only my daughter but several other students out-of-state resident rates when all their applications illustrated DC residents. Like how can you not even read what's on the applications! How many other students were charged nearly 3 times when they should have been charged as a DC residents scares me on the level of corruption and neglect this body demonstrates to it's it's attendees.0

Then to not even have the decency and competence to even respond to emails and calls to try to correct this is just completely absurd, no wonder UDC is a laughing stock of a school to attend they can't even serve as a place to get extra credits for actual schools. How neglectful can you be to students and applicants, like seriously!

I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.
