I have lived in various areas and dealt with many different post offices, but this one consistently provides the worst experience. I wish it were possible to transfer my mail to the Wrightwood post office instead.

The staff members here frequently appear to be in a bad mood, exhibit unhelpful attitudes, and often return packages without proper justification. It seems as though they dislike their jobs, and unfortunately, customers bear the brunt of this negativity.

This post office is biggest scam ever!

Always have mail in my box that belongs to others.

Get Christmas cards post marked November, delivered in February, yet I haven't complained.

Then they EXTORT us by forcing us to pay $10 to reinstate the box. They have no proof they delivered the renewal to our correct box, yet charge $10 for the box to be unlocked. The staff can be thankful it's a government job because otherwise they would be out of a job with their performance.

THE WORST POST OFFICE......EVER!!!!!! Avoid this post office if you can. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. They literally SUCK at delivering mail. Tracking for many items are NEVER accurate. For instance, at 1:38pm tracking states packages left in parcel locker. Go to post box at 5:45pm and there is no key in my box for said parcel locker. This is beyond ridiculous. Another instance, they have lost packages and then put it in the system that it was delivered to remove it from their system so they don't have to deal with it anymore. It's BS!

Made a passport application appointment even though everything was confirmed for 8 o’clock the two ladies there were extremely rude and disrespectful and said they don’t have any appointments before 10 AM and even at that they’re turning people away because they don’t have the staff to do it drove 25 miles because it was the closest place. I can get an appointment. For nothing, the rudest and most disrespectful women I’ve ever dealt with in my life

Early 2024 my husband and I made an appointment to apply for passports. We showed up at the appropriate time and were told that the computer system was down and they couldn't tell us when it would be back up. We made an appointment at the Phelan postwent to the field post office and we helped immediately when we arrived. Turns out the Pinon Hills PO post office computer system was down for over a month. How can the US government allow that to happen!! Oh, yeah, I have been told by many residents that this is not a government owned post office. It is locally owned. I asked why nobody called to let us know that they could not process our application and was told that they do not have our phone numbers. BS. Our phone numbers are on our mailbox application that we filled out when we move to Pinon Hills PO. The employees there are too lazy to look anything up. When we first got the mailbox, one of my credit cards kept getting my statements back because the people at the post office didn't put my name on the mailbox. They only have my husband's name and since my last name is different than his, they couldn't find my name. We finally got that fixed after a few months. We were also told that if mail shows up without the PO Box number on it, they would look us up in their system and put the mail in the appropriate mailbox. That's more BS. Fortunately, most of our bills are now paperless or we can access them online so this is no longer an issue for us. They keep returning my husband's truck registration to the DMV, stating that the PO Box number does not show in the window. When my car registration shows up in the mail, it gets into our mailbox no problem and the PO Box number does show through the window. When we showed this to the people there, we just got the deer in the headlights look. So now, when the truck registration is due, he has to go to AAA in Victorville to pay for it and get the sticker. So much for a local post office convenience. We would change to a Phelan mailbox because the people there are actually helpful, but we do not want to go through the trouble of having to change our address again. We used to have a mailbox at the UPS store, but we came to the Pinon Hills post office when the UPS Store got way too expensive. Now the UPS store has been sold to another mail and package service that does not offer all of the things to UPS Store used to offer. Plus, I'm not going to pay 3 to 4 times the cost just to be able to get my mail 24/7.

African lady is very rude and passive aggressive. A Chinese customer explained that he didn’t understand English and needed Chinese translation and was very rude to him and seemed annoyed to go out of her way to find help. Then when she was helping me would seriously cut me off every sentence like she was in a rush. Do better, we have no choice but to pick up our mail here. Get better employees that actually want to work here.

Seeing as how it's as small as it is, and how insanely busy pinon hills has been lately, I think they're doing okay. Sometimes you won't get your mail that is stated as delivered, but hey, give it a month or two and it should show up.

There are certain times you should steer clear of package pickup. There have been a lot of times the line has been out the door, only to find two lines are open, but one line is being used by a new family or an elderly person missing one of the said packages. Honestly it's courtesy. If you're filling out an application for a box, do it next to the window or somewhere else, that way the 53 million goobers in line behind you can get their three packages without having blood vessels bursting and heart attacks.

And as far as covid goes, they seem to be doing well there. They have taped lines at intervals and plastic protecting the workers from you. But you just have to watch out for that little fire captain that stands an inch from you. Confront him about it and you'll get that famous line, "Hello there! I'm a fire captain and your mask doesn't work!"

You might not get your mail right away, you might have to deal with typical desert people breathing on you, but as long as you aren't rushing everything should be fine. Life is too short to worry about it. I do feel bad for the woman that works with the public mostly (from my visits). I don't think she gets many breaks between stupid questions.
