It’s only been a month. I am in Automotive class. It’s chill so far you learn everything on hands and online books. But I work on my car in there and they work on others cars in class. Honestly you can make whatever you can out of it. I’m just wanting to know how to do it so I don’t have to charge a mechanic. The jobs in this in a shop isn’t really great. Regardless of what school, my advice is learn how to fix your car and other cars and do this as your own business on the side. Don’t invest all your money in this. Because you’re gonna be upset, try to do this as a business instead not be hired on, maybe just gain experience and venture off.

DON'T FALL FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE TRAP!! My husband went to school here to be an automotive technician and I will tell you right now, THIS SCHOOL IS A SCAM!! My husband was top of his class with all A's, 4.0 GPA, perfect attendance, etc and he still has not been able to land a job as an actual automotive technician. Not even GM (the company that sponsors the school) will give him a job as an automotive technician even though they have the openings. Instead, they'll only hire him as a lube technician making only $17/hour which is the base pay for the job because apparently his degree and certificates mean nothing. And also, all the dealerships pay about that much for a lube tech and nobody will hire you to be an automotive technician right after this school. Don't let them feed you their lies. They promise job assistance (which they do) but they try to put you in positions that pay no more than $15/hour when they promise you that you can make good money after going to their school and then they practically laugh you out of the office when you tell them that you want to work at the big dealerships. Most fast food workers make more money than my husband does. And last but not least, don't let them tell you that you need an education to get into the automotive industry. IT'S A LIE. My husband works alongside other people who never went to school and started with no experience.

Worst place of so called schooling ever you don’t learn nothing they don’t teach nothing just whole lot of standing around and breathing. No actual hands on work no real world experience giving it’s a waste of time.the other classes hvac medical dental those classes actual work. If u want to do auto go to uti or Ati they actually set you up to success this school jus want government funding

DO NOT listen to anything the recruiters tell you or show you. I attended the automotive section and everything that was promised was barely there. I was told hands on and visual learning and barely even talked to my instructors because they were too busy focusing on their computers. My last 3 months in school was doing absolutely nothing with no instructor help and we had to do it on our own. They cram you into a classroom with 25+ students. They also trap you for money and take everything they can to make sure you pay the most money for this school. I would not recommend this school to any of my friends or family

Current student at UEI, at lemme say it was my BIGGEST MISTAKE for coming to this school, like the other comments said don’t listen to the recruiters because they will talk a good one to you and leave you 10k or more left in debt over stuff you can learn on YouTube or go to an ACTUAL college. You go to school two days out the week and the rest is online and all we do is watch videos on YouTube when we coulda just watched that at home instead of spending lots of money, the only good thing at this school is the hands on learning but other than that I wouldn’t recommend this school at all especially if your going for MA because you don’t get certified.. but a dumb diploma basically an achievement award while you have to pay an additional 150 something dollars for a test to get certified, in my opinion the only good thing I enjoyed going at this school was to see our former teacher Ms. Perez, an amazing teacher sadly doesn’t work there anymore. Also not to mention no matter how many complaints you put they don’t listen and sweep it under the rug this school is so half ass and unorganized literally no structure they are just money hungry. UPDATE: 8/19/25: come to find out if your late in your payments UEI will not give you your diploma until you are up to date with your payments… “career based” my ass! I already graduated and I’m STILL looking for a job and UEI is not much help at all, when they claim they are career based and will not stop till we find a job is lies! and if they do help everything is off indeed🤣 not to mention certified programs range from 1,200 to 20,500! 20,000 is abt how much the whole damn thing cost which is OUTRAGEOUS and we don’t get certified!! For diploma programs it’s 3,400 to 27,100 which is a lil more but please be for real most these jobs need you to be certified, what is a damn diploma gonna do And now that I need it, I can’t get it bc I’m behind on payments but I wonder why? Bc UEI is no damn help with finding jobs, I’m not just depending on UEI bc I’ve looked myself trust me and still no luck. Again horrible school, with a bunch of law suits but they will lie to you and say they don’t but it’s literally all over the internet 😂 can’t wait till this school goes down, nothing but FRAUD.

Was looking to get into electrical but based of these reviews it seems like what ITT tech did back in the day. All the bad reviews here are met with an automated "thank you for your review" UEI should have a person responding if the claims are bullshit. I'll check out Electrical Joint Apprenticeship.
