The memories I have with this company as a single parent are horrific... this is a company that takes advantage of the less fortunate and kick the struggling while they're down... They play by their own rules!!! Until energy is free I hope this corporation is eventually held accountable for how many people they have tormented in their time of need..... I mean what company knows you're struggling to pay your bill and that there's minimal to NO services to help but will actually add more to the bill!!! I mean I pray this company gets investigated that's all I got.... And this is coming from a nurse who no longer struggles to pay her bill ‼️

Since the pandemic hit - things have taken a hit in every aspect of our lives,.. but when I leave off my utility payment in the drop-off box, the front of the NPU building is shameful, litter everywhere, dead plants in pots...
Where is management?, Is Norwich suffering from community blindness to this?
Ironically, I saw the pics posted in 2017... Wow!

Talk about going downhill!

( Part Two. )

Well there is something to be said for these Google reviews !
Soon after I made my original posting - the message got out. - And NPU took action!
They cleaned up the litter, and replaced the dying flowers in the planters.
But I ask : " Why does it take a public shaming to fix the most obvious of situations?"
Well, now I'm going to go out on a limb and publicly suggest to NPU that they should take the next step and actually plant a few trees in the front - and help cool the planet - or at least their section of the asphalt jungle.
( I've now added the "after" google review picture. - and changed my rating of 2 stars to 3, IF NPU wants a 5 star rating - they need to take progressive action and remove every damm utility pole that is planted in the towns sidewalks)

Numerous issues with this company, let's start with not mailing warnings or shut offs then demanding the entire bill suddenly plus extra fees. This while having 3 children and a diabetic in my house. The girl on the phone was disrespectful and could only repeat the one sentence over and over. Refused to get a supervisor. Thats just one instance amongany that involve disrespectful staff, lack of training or communication skills and complete incompetence with using the postal system and sending mail. This entire company should be ashamed of themselves

A huge Thank you! to NPU for the help during the12-17 to 12-18 storm. When things got serious they were there to help. I've only lived in the town a few years and from what I've experienced in other towns you get what you pay for. Norwich taxes are high but you get better services. Special Thanks to Chris Riley in service and the tree crew that busted butt to clear the lines.

The worst experience in customer service we have ever had. My boyfriend is in the military so he cannot access his phone through out the day and being as I pay the bills too I figured Id help out by sorting billing issues out regardless of whether the account is in my name. Rude, extremely difficult to get clear answers. Promised we’d be called back multiple times by multiple people. When asking for a callback from the supervisor they give us someone else. Took a month or so to get a supervisor. It had taken months to resolve a billing issue, and when finally resolved we had asked for an itemized bill. The supervisor promised an itemized bill but we never received one. Called back again today to follow up but they cant discuss the bill with me. I get it but it never should have been dragged out this long. From start to finish it’s taken over 6 months and still no itemized bill. Consult of this business may be needed.

Customer service representatives have no idea what they are doing. I moved out of my apartment in Norwich at the end of July 2022. It is now December of 2022 and they are STILL holding me accountable for the utility bill on the apartment. I have called them several times to take it out of my name, the current tenant has called them, and the landlord has made a visit to them. Each time they called we were told different things. First, they said to have the current tenant call to switch it into her name. Next month, I still got the bill. I called again and this time they say that the current tenant has to send in a copy of the lease with just her name on it. When I switched it to my name upon moving in, I never had to submit a lease. The current tenant did so anyways. Then the next month after that I still got another bill from them. Not sure how many different languages I have to say "I don't live there anymore" in for them to finally get the point. Of course I can't just go without paying the bill either because that would negatively affect my credit. Looks like I might be making a drive from Pennsylvania all the way back up to Norwich, Connecticut so I can march into that office myself. I won't be leaving until my name is off that utility bill.

literally the worst utility company. I lived in a 1 br apartment with my partner. We used one TV and one computer among lights and heat. Our monthly bill was over $700 ALMOST EVERY MONTH. I moved across the state and larger apartment, same set up, same usage, guess how much? $50.

The only positive is the women who answer the phone listen and are apologetic. They know things are messed up but I don't think they can do anything to fix it.

if you can avoid using this company do so.

So I thought it was just me. NPU failed to turn my gas off after I requested my utilities be turned off bcuz I was moving. Lights off, gas remains on for next tenant and they hold me responsible, even with proof. Bill goes to collection, and now I can't get utilities in Norwich. This happened in 2003. Twenty years ago. Hold a grudge much?
