Nothing fancy or flashy but a good college all around. As long as you're going for a STEM degree or something in the trades rather than a pointless liberal arts degree, this college is a good choice. I left after three semesters but it had nothing to do with the college and had circumstances been different I would gladly have finished out my four year degree here.

I love taking online classes from MSU Billings considering the fact that I work full-time and live in Great Falls. Professor Ying Wang is VERY lenient with life/work schedule and will adjust your assignments/exams to your preferred dates on the weekends. As a part time student, I cannot wait to graduate for an Accounting Bachelor’s degree during Spring 2026. It’s nice not having to pay a single dime for this school since I am using veteran’s benefits.

Excellent local 4 year university in Billings. No need to travel to Bozeman or Missoula for a top tier degree when you can get it closer to home. The university is smaller with dorms and a lower tuition bill. Respect the Locals and their culture and the place they call home.

A college campus that I thought I'd never see. They have a really generous acceptance rate so if you are just sitting shy of a few credits and want to finish your degree, talk to them. They have a great staff to help plan things and the chancellor very strict on keeping the campus tidy and free of ice and snow. And the price isn't that expensive compared to a lot of other universities. The only complaint I have is the general feel. It seems like I'm going to some school slightly above a community college but not quite a "college".

Firstly, I see there is plenty 5 star ratings with out a review...

So, I'll be the first still attending Fifth year; Business and Accounting major, Bachelor of Science, MSU Billings student, to voice the problem.

I am African-American, 24 years of age. I moved South recently, but attended most of my college career on campus... 4 years exactly.

Unitl I moved, I was oblivious to the problem haunting MSU Billings...

Racism.

I have reached out so many times, to so many instructors, to my advisor for help... They all stand by and want to watch me fail... Yes, it is on me to pass.. I am the one attending.. But it is the instructor whom must believe in the people, so they may become greater people too, one day... And It is ABSENT at MSU Billings...

Ask any student on campus that is any other ethnicity than white, and they struggle not only socially, but academically...

And if there is any person that cares within the institution, then they will stand and agree that minorities are treated differently, than a white person.. on campus or not...

I will be the one to say that the advisors and the instructors (not all of them) are careless, inconsiderate, judgmental, and jealous people... They talk down, judge and hold grades over one's head for power...

I have FOUGHT for my grades!

I shouldn't have to fight for what should already be implemented: RESPECT.

The golden rule is abolished at Montana State University Billings...

All of the students of varying ethnicity, will experience racism and doubt from not only the white instructors, but ALL of the instructors...

I have met few instructors that truly believed in me as a STUDENT and a PERSON while attending MSU Billings...

I still struggle and will be motioning a transfer of college's, for where one is believed in as a PERSON...

Montana is racist, so are people on the inside...

I lived in Montana my entire 24 years of my life... Being an African-American, mixed, I have experienced a life time of doubt and racism by plenty in Montana...

It starts with the places like the schools to make a change. And any student attending the college, I encourage you to truly reach out and feel how someone not of your race or ethnicity and understand how they feel. Experience it and live it. I hope that any instructors and beyond that will sympathize; believe not only in them as a person but, as a student.

*Update*

Enrolled in TRIO for a semester and they were unable to assist with 2 out 4 of my classes. I failed those classes that semester.

An Formal Instructor complaint is useless in the MSU Billings College of Business. Not only have I experienced so, but the TRIO Director informed me of this issue. Also, that I was helpless with a Stats/Actg class. They do not have an infrastructure dedicated to those subjects.

Student voices are irrelevant and instructors still don't believe in the future.

An Instructor can remove/switch students Advisors with little effort but, good luck trying to acquire a different Advisor in the College of Business.

This review is prominently related to the College of Business.

I won't let anyone determine my future but me. They can keep trying to fail me. They can have me pay for incomplete classes a million times and would still see me put in my best effort. I am devastated that this is my hometown and home college.

***Update***

I've graduated Summer 2023 and barely made it out. My advisor didn't inform me that a certain amount of credits were required before the end of 2022. I was then unknowingly advised by the graduation dept. That I didn't have enough credits!!! I was furious with my advisor, as I asked for help and confirmation only to be told I was being "Cryptic". So I grad in the Summer instead of Spring...
My opinion hasn't changed much, but I am grateful for those few people I met on the campus... I didn't meet anyone or have any significant events in my life other than graduation, at MSU Billings. Those aren't my expectations, but something is and has been missing a this University (Culture). Peace out and good luck ✌🏾🙏🏾

Great university. Friendly staff and students. Great food. Small class sizes make for great one on one teaching.
