Back in February my drive shaft came apart on my 2005 Tacoma.

I had my vehicle brought in to King's Tire and Lube based on the recommendation of a friend, they said that King's takes good care of locals and offers decent service. I wont be taking advice from them anytime again.

King's Tire quoted me around $1400 for the total job, which I thought was pretty high, but I was also told that it would be ready by the start of the next week which I felt was worth paying a little bit of a tax. The tech said that a big part of the problem was that this driveshaft was a real oddball part and it was very expensive.

King's project finish date comes and goes, and they don't even bother calling me. I call them several times through the next week before I even get a call back. Finally by the end of the next week, I'm told my car is finally ready. I'm annoyed but I go and pick up my car and check the invoice because I want to know what is so freaking special about this propeller shaft. That it took a whole extra week for them to find and it and get it shipped and installed.

Imagine my surprise when I get my invoice to find that they used a ROCKAUTO parts number. When I look up this part number from the website I see the price for the part is $322.79!?!

King's Tire and Lube However has me paying $1283.42 for this part alone, before Labor?

I'm justifiably a bit shocked at this. I get having to pay a bit of a markup on price, but I think its pretty crappy to lie about the difficulty in acquiring said part (I feel like everyone, at some point, has probably used ROCKAUTO), and then to mark it up 400% is an effort to gouge customers, or maybe just bad business?

When I asked in person to explain the discrepancy I was told in a RUDE fashion that 'The part had to be overnighted'.

It took them an extra week to complete the job, and I would not have approved paying overnight shipping fees anyway; Had I known that the job was going to take them as long as it did, I would have done it myself. Especially once I figured out that King's Tire and Lube wants to charge a 400% markup on the parts. The only reason I went with King's is because they told me it would be done quickly.

I was also told that I would receive a call from a manager to discuss this, and I'm not at all surprised that no one followed through from this company.

I highly caution you, check around and get a second quote, check the part prices, and you can probably get the job done better, faster, and cheaper elsewhere. There are lots of mechanics around Milford and I doubt I'll ever use this one again.

Superb Service. I neglected to schedule a time to drop off my Mazda for maintenance. The morning personnel at the office placed me on a schedule slot for that day and the work was completed later in the day. Brought truck for free tire rotation since I bought the tires here drove back to Millsboro with a shaking brought truck back and was told tire out of round long story short cost me 67.00 to have new tire installed mind you didn't mind paying for depreciation which came to 33.00 charged me 34.00 to installed the new tire . When they will charge you 20.00 to rotate all 4 tires if you buy the there. Got there @8:15

Very expensive. It took them 10 days to change the alternator. The price was 122 dollars more then it was said on the phone. I negotiated, they gave me a discount. 3 stars, at least got my car back.
