This review is specifically for the dental clinic side, NOT the medical because they do a great job and deserve 5 stars.

Do NOT GO TO THE DENTAL CLINIC here! The hygienist is great but the DENTIST IS HORRIBLE. I’m not sure if she gets some kind of kick back from referring people to an oral surgeon in Parkersburg or if she honestly is in need of more guidance but I know of at least 2 other people she referred to have work done on their teeth, including myself, that got second opinions just to be told the expensive procedures were not needed. I questioned her during my appointment after she forcefully told me I needed to go as soon as possible to the dental surgeon and she responded by saying “I won’t treat someone who questions me and you can get a second opinion from someone else”, so I did.

My family gets cleanings done every 6 months, or at least we try to, and she tried telling me I needed the work done at the appointment I had prior to this one. Another issue we regularly had at this clinic is the cleaning appointments are not normally able to be scheduled every 6 months apart but more like 8-10 months apart. At the appointment I’m discussing in this post, the hygienist said that they couldn’t get us back in to be seen until about 9 months after that appointment we were at due to appointment availability issues, this was before we ever saw the dentist. Since it was “normal” to have to wait 8-10 months between appointments during the 3 years I was using this clinic I didn’t think too much about it but was still frustrated since we are supposed to be seen every 6 months. It was middle of 2024 that I had this appointment being discussed but I waited to post this review until I had time to make it but also until I got a second opinion.

I got an appointment made with All Smiles Dental for December, that my kids and I went to, and was told that everything looked great and no work was needed. I even asked about the issue the previous dentist brought up and the dentist at all smiles explained to me how it was nothing that needed addressed and that he was very confident everything looked good. I 100% believe that one’s opinion because he took his time to do an actual assessment and looked over X-rays while explained to me what he was seeing. The dentist at the clinic I’m reviewing spent less than a min doing her exam and pulled up the X-ray for me to glance at for just a few second and then turned it away. I do have a medical background and have also been shown dental X-rays with explanations from doctors in the past for other people so am no expert. I didn’t see anything that looked concerning when she let me glance at the X-ray, along with the very brief glance she did looking at my actual teeth, and that’s why I questioned her. IF she had simply taken the time to do an actual assessment and not been so defensive when I asked her to explain to me what was wrong and why the procedure was needed then I probably would still be going to that clinic simply because it is at a convenient location. I’m glad that this happened because I’m thrilled I’m no longer waisting my time or money at this location getting less than adequate dental care.

Everyone here was incredibly helpful and kind. They were able to get my partner in quickly for a much needed extraction. Dr. Holly Haldeman-Collins was incredible! Highly recommend!!

I noticed there are several 1-star reviews, but I’m not even sure how that’s possible because West Union staff is AMAZING especially the dental side! My teeth have never looked so good, and all the staff members have been incredibly nice. They take excellent care of my kids and I highly recommend their services to all my friends and family. Keep up the good work!

so let’s get some things straight here. i transfered my care from this facility due to poor treatment from your staff, if you dismissed me after i had already
left, good on you? i had nothing to say to your staff after they had treated me so poorly over the phone, how dare you bully harass and slander me for leaving an honest review, how could i bully someone for asking medical questions over the phone, when i was not medically treated correctly as other patients whose skin color is lighter than me. i should be the one to seek legal action against this office and staff for such conduct, your facility allowed me to go untreated even after calling in to let you know of the infection and pain i am in and need of urgent treatment, ESPECIALLY being pregnant my dental care should not had been neglected by your office and disregarded by your team member who decided to take over the call just because she overheard a conversation. all patients should be treated equally, after jessica was not compassionate about my concerns about my health and mentioned if i didn’t like it to find somewhere else that’s exactly what i did and got treatment immediately. i have the right to leave my honest review i have the freedom of speech and you can’t bully and threaten me for leaving you a review of my experience at your office at all. that’s why my review stands.

poor service and little care for patients’ health and well being. they let my gum line cavity go untreated for so long that it has gotten infected and abscess now, not even an antibiotic prescribed by them to keep it from becoming worse before their rescheduled appointment. i called in my concerns of infection and needing treatment and was told to deal with how and when they want to treat it or find someone else that will.
The best thing Jessica in dental could do for me is to be rude and treat me as less than a cared for patient. If I was not treated right and with respect by her mouth, why would I trust to be treated right inside of my mouth!? I won’t take that chance!! Either my complexion was not light enough, or my insurance company made her to treat me less than the other valued and cared for patients that come in and bring business into this company, but I have definitely found a new provider that treats me with top notch care and respect for not only me as a person but also my dental needs and concerns, no matter my insurance provider or skin color, Premier Dental has treated me 100% better professionally with the best care and in a timely fashion and sense of urgency for my treatment after my dental needs and concerns were terribly neglected here at Ritchie Regional in west union. Thank you for your advice Jess!! I am finally getting the care that I needed and deserved all of this time since being stalled out for proper treatment here at R.R. again, THANK YOU!

West Unions office and medical staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel important and cared for. The front office staff of medical and dental are always kind, knowledgeable and smiling. We have had no bad experiences here.
