HCE is an excellent company. They service my rental homes and businesses. They are very professional and show up on time, in time. I cannot say enough good things about them. I own a historic home in Wise, VA, the E.M. Fulton house. This is when I met HCE because I got quotes from five different HVAC providers in the area who all wasted my time. This ranged from visiting the house and taking measurements to not give a quote, to not showing up at all. HCE had it done in a month. Kevin is the man, and the rest of his crew spent time in my home and were very, very respectful. They were around my family doing their jobs and we had no trouble, in fact, we made friends.

The ONLY reason I am giving HCE 4 stars right now is that if you look at my Lee Propane review, HCE recommended Lee Propane. HCE now has inherited Lee Propane's customer service through recommendation (maybe not fair in some people's eyes, but no propane, no heat, no need for HCE propane heaters). If Lee Propane fills my tank next Saturday or sooner, I will restore HCE to five stars, and I hope HCE calls Lee Propane to let them know it is important Lee Propane support HCE clients if they expect referrals. HCE might even confirm with me this week they have made the phone call. I am sure Kevin will reach out.

My critical recommendation to HCE would be to not refer Lee Propane to anyone for sometime until HCE can confirm that Lee Propane is taking care of HCE customers.

I have no local experience with Suburban Propane (might very soon!), but at least in Chattanooga, TN I can say they are excellent. Perhaps HCE should instead consider solely recommending Suburban until Lee Propane can restore their commitment to the community for customer service and to set expectations with customers about when they will receive propane? The "we will be there Saturday" stuff Lee Propane is selling, and not showing up, is not good enough. At least if it really is going to be weeks or months, Lee Propane, please set a hard appointment for it so people are not left burning wood stoves...

EDIT: Kevin called the owner of Lee Propane within an hour of this review. 5 stars!!!

Contacted Hce to service my propane fireplace logs. They sent a technician out who never worked on propane fireplaces. He knew nothing about anything, left after about 20 minutes talking on the phone,went back to the office and picked up an owner's manual. Over an hour later, returned and looked at some pictures reset my fireplace logs, didn't clean anything,,didn't check anything left me with a $250 bill. And the insult to all of this was after using the logs briefly I started to notice soot coming off of logs. The logs were not installed correctly. I correctly re installed them.
This business should not advertise that they provide a service and then send a unqualified technician to do the work. My system never got properly serviced.

I had HCE guys here today to fix my heat pump. The guys did a awesome job. I was without air for 2 weeks then made an appointment with HCE, they got right out and fixed it. Friendly guys Robert and Joe fixed mine in minimal time. My home is so cool. They wouldn't leave until it was the perfect temperature in my home. Pricing was great.
