I was soooo pumped to taste this chicken and sauce everyone was talking about. Finally made it. The line was average but the people were definitely coming left and right. The chicken tasted like chicken is supposed to taste to me. I disliked the sauce. I was looking forward to the wow factor

I dream of this chicken since I moved away 10 years ago. In fact I drive 40 minutes from my parents just to get this chicken when I come back to visit. It is not your normal southern BBQ or Texas BBQ so if your wanting that style this place isn't for you. HOWEVER, this BBQ chicken is not only unique but in my opinion better then any other I've ever tried. The sauce they use in a vinegar base and really keeps the quicken moist and is cooked til it almost falls off the bone. It cost $8 and you can choose half a chicken or 2 quarters. You also get pickles, a roll, and chips. It is a great value and is amazing. If you have never tried it get there between May and the end of October and try it.

Great chicken, great price, great service. Sauce is different but it’s tasty and great for dipping. Even when the line is long the people still are very nice and friendly. Def a solid consistent spot.

Support your first responders. The chicken is awsome .The people who fix the chicken and the people who wait on you are awesome, very nice , friendly people . My cousin was a fire chief at this fire department, who was killed in a controlled burning . He loved his job,took pride in serving the public. Never thought twice about putting his life on the line as all these brave fireman do.

The food is good but I won't be going back. I don't like how the flies are flying around the food. The need to put industrial fans around the area where they serve the food to keep the flies away. Flies are really nasty and I don't want them landing on food I am going to eat.

Love the chicken but have not been able to find Greenwood Chicken open for the last 3 weeks. We go out of our way to drive to Greenwood to get the chicken only to find that it is closed. Today, the sign said that 'Chicken is Ready' but closed up tight and no one around. Waste of time and gas to drive so far to be disappointed.

My absolute favorite chicken spot! I see Greenwood Chicken as something of a hidden gem that most people from out of state wouldn’t know about. I’ve only been coming here for the last few years but plan on returning for years to come. It’s a basic menu but you already know what you’re getting when you show up. The platter is comprised of your choice of chicken half or quarters, then the rest is the same: handful of sliced pickles, roll, flavor choice of chips. There is a small drink selection and a vending machine. I absolutely love the “sauce” that is in water bottles on ice. I usually use an abundance of it for my chicken.

Edit: Not to mention the proceeds go toward the local Greenwood fire company which also gives it a great cause!

Great barbecue chicken for a decent price. Make sure you arrive early due to its popularity. You may have to wait but it will be worth it in the end.
