For a company that has frequent outages they value themselves too highly. They double customer’s deposit if a payment is made late more than once. They shut off power if payment is not made on time with zero grace period of flexibility. Other electric companies will send a “shut off notice” before the power is turned off, but these guys shut the power off and mail a notice days later. Then they punish you by raising your bill another $75 per month for the next four months if you ever have your service interrupted, even if you pay the full amount due plus the $65 reconnect fee within a few minutes of power being remotely disconnected.

It took exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds for them to remotely reconnect power after the payment was made. That means it’s just a matter of flipping a switch and not an expensive service call to reconnect, yet somehow they feel this justifies their now telling me this is going to cost me an extra $300.

This company cares absolutely nothing for their customers. I’m stuck with wondering if I’m stuck with this company for as long as I live at our current address, of if I have e other options. If you have another option, you should take it.

I wish I could give this company zero out of 5 stars. One star is one star too many.

I have not had trouble with outages but their customer service has no compassion. I get paid every other week, not 1st and 15th. So when my bill is due on the 15th I have to wait till the next week typically when I get paid. I have never missed a payment in 2 years with them. I tragically lost a family member Monday so when I got paid Wednesday I was still in the middle of that with my family and completely forgot until my power was turned off (bill due the 15th… power off the 25th). I simply called to explain the situation and asked them to waive some of the fees which were a pretty good amount. Nothing. Supervisor said there was nothing they could do. Not a sorry. Nothing. Yes I have the money for the fees but this was an extenuating circumstance that they can tell had never happened on my account before and I think as a huge company who can afford it it was in bad taste to not offer some help to a loyal customer. The problem is we can’t choose our utility company. Only one option depending on your address.
