Walk-in for VIN verification for purpose of transferring license plates at 8:40 on a Friday morning. Was told 3 people in front of me so it would be a few min. Two hrs. later - finally had the piece of paper - which I was charged $20. (VIN verification should simply be $10. since emissions wasn't required in my case.)

No clue how this place has four and a half star rating. For emissions I can only say this longest wait time I've ever experienced at any Emission Center. Wait a half-hour and nobody even speaks to you or acknowledges you. I have never been to an emission center that takes over a half an hour to do one car. The most I've ever waited is 15 minutes with a line! And the counter gentleman is rude rude rude. I guess the emissions business isn't worth it and he wants us to all go elsewhere to get emissions tested.

I feel very secure and confident using Bob's Auto Center. I trust their work and don't feel like I'll get "ripped off" since I think they are honest and know what they are doing. I highly recommend them even though I've only been there a few times. I have a 2010 Honda Accord that I have never kept up with the servicing requirements since I don't trust Honda somehow. I do have faith in going forward and getting my car totally checked out. Bob and I came up with a schedule so that I know which services I will need someone to drive me to get me home and which ones will be quickest. I just have a good feeling about the business and the owner and his family. I like family businesses.

Great experience, quality work at a fair price. No gouging or extras. Bob and his crew do an excellent job. Nothing fancy but don't be put off they'll treat you right.

My family has brought our cars here for about 15 years. For the past 7 or 8 of them I have begged them to find someone else. Employees and the owner especially are extremely rude and unhelpful, I have never once had a good experience with them.

The nail in the coffin for any respect I had for the place was slammed into place two summers ago when I brought the car in for a check up before a long road trip. I picked up the car out the day of the trip and hit the road. Not an hour into driving the brakes were nearly unresponsive and I had to pump them constantly just to slow down so I could roll to a stop. Turns out the brake lines were leaking fluid, this was right after we got the ok from this store.

Needless to say I will never do business with them again, I dont think it would be out of line to call them criminal for the way they have ripped us off over the years.

Recently I brought my car to the Darien Car Clinic by exit 13. They were extremely helpful and even brought me under the car to show me the state it was in. After years of bringing our car to the Darien Auto Center for alleged "upkeep and repair" the bottom of my car was covered in rust and the brake lines had clearly not been replaced even after the roadtrip incident.

I dont leave reviews for much but I want to save whoever I can from being ripped off by this place. They are dishonest and rude, that aside they will not fix your car.

I had a very good experience at the Darien Car Clinic and my car rides noticeably better after having them do repairs then in all the years I brought it here. Do not let this place rob you, go somewhere else.

Yes I came here to have my Emissions done and as always the gentleman that works the front was as always helpful and able to accomodate me on such short notice. I was the guy with the 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, brown. Thank you again for everything.

Went for state inspection.old guy (Owner) accused me of lying about my temp. Tag and claimed DMV does not issue temp tags for cars transferring from out of state. He was disrespectful and arrogant.
Ruined my morning.. luckily I went to another inspection station and I was in and out in 10 mins. Without a problem

Went for emissions test. There was only one person at the shop. Ended up waiting for almost two hours. There were 2 ppl in front of me. The guy was answering phone calls, walk ins, and doing emissions test.
