We recently brought a car to Christian Brothers and they did a thorough inspection to help us understand the various issues. Kris took the time to explain everything in detail and gave me honest options for repairs, which I really appreciated. The pricing was very fair and they were very quick with their services. I'm so grateful to have found a trustworthy mechanic and highly recommend Christian Brothers to anyone in need of automotive services. They definitely go the extra mile - I'll be back!

Came for an oil change, left with lots of helpful information.

First off, the staff. Super friendly and welcoming. Absolute joy to talk to! Second, hospitality. Enjoyed complimentary water and coffee, waiting area has some very comfortable seating. Damn near took a nap! Third, cleanliness. Waiting area is very nice, organized, and clean. Same can be said for the shop area. Techs and employees clearly take pride in their work environments.

Something that was nice to have, that I’ve never had at any place I’ve taken my car, is they give a a report that is sent to you via text. So I can go back to it at any time, and review the photos/notes that the technician (In my case it was Chris) left. For example, I had no clue my front struts were torn and damaged. And I can go back to the link in my text and review it any time I want!

And thank you Jamie for explaining everything going on with my car. You’re a blast to talk to, along with everyone else. Outstanding service, and I appreciate everything!

Really happy with the service here. Prompt, organized, and very helpful. I recently took my vehicle in due to a service light being on. Rather than simply fixing it and charging me, they researched whether it might be covered under a special extended warranty through Honda. It was. This saved me $1500. They not only made the arrangements with Honda, but drove my vehicle to and from the appointment there so I didn’t have to deal with it.

They do quality work and have prompt service, but the prices are always more expensive than other shops. There's essentially a silent upcharge for the 3 year warranty they provide. But the thing that annoys me the most is that after any service, even just a simple oil change, they will text, email, and actually call you multiple times for useless purposes. It seems like good customer service, but getting called several times in a week "just to see if you have any questions" gets old fast. What questions would I possibly have about a routine oil change? The amount of texting, emailing, and calling honestly approaches the level of spam.

I'm a new resident of Sun Prairie, and I went to Christian Brothers because of a mailing for a free oil change and inspection.
After completing the inspection I was told I needed several major repairs. One was replacing both lower control arms, replacing both front stabilizer bar control links, a front alignment, and a pressure test on the cooling system because of a supposed coolant odor. The total cost of all these services was almost $1700.
I was suspicious of this because my car is only 4 years old with about 77,500 miles on it. Some of my friends with automotive experience thought that diagnosis was out of the ordinary. I always get a second opinion on repairs costing that much, so I went back to Janesville and took my vehicle to a independent garage I've been going to for years and who has a reputation for honest service.
I did that today and they told me aside from some small play on the stabilizer bars in that didn't require immediate attention, everything else was perfectly fine. I know I need a front end alignment because the vehicle pulls slightly, but Christian Brothers wouldn't do that unless all the other issues were done first.
The bottom line here is I think they (Christian Brothers Automotive) was disceptive/dishonest with me on this matter, attempting to get me to agree to repairs that were not necessary. Whether it was because I was getting free services that day and they wanted to get me to return for paid service to compensate, or perhaps this is something they attempt to do to ill informed/gullable people on a regular basis I can't say? But it does leave me with a bad taste in my mouth regarding this company that they tried to sell me a "bill of goods" so to speak. I will be curious to see if they contact me about this review.
The people there were curtious and friendly, the facility was well kept and cleaned. I have no complaints on those. I read some reviews prior to going there and while the vast majority were positive, their were a few who had issues similar to mine, regarding unnecessary repairs, and overcharging. Most of us don't have thousands of dollars l
I take no pleasure in having to write a review like this, but it's important to inform other people when something like this occurs. People need to be so careful about everything these days. Scammers are out there everywhere, and the public has to protect themselves!
All I can say, and this applies to any automotive shop, is DON'T simply accept their word regarding any repairs/service they say you may need! ALWAYS get another opinion from a repair shop you have trust in!

FEMALES ESPECIALLY BE AWARE. Everyone in the office was friendly and I was able to get in same day for my battery issue. However- I was charged $205 for a diagnostics test and as far as I can tell I only got my battery tested which is free everywhere else. I also was charged $508 for a battery/installation and wasn’t given options for a cheaper battery (it was $388 for the battery itself), just automatically given the most expensive option. My dad called the next day for an estimate for my make and model and was told $150-200 for the battery. I feel like I was taken advantage of as a woman who needed urgent help.

I am giving three stars as an average of my two ratings.

Their service is 5 stars. They had great communication, their ride service is great, they are able to get you in quickly, and they give you a delicious cookie. They fixed one thing, which didn’t end up being the main issue and got me in the next day without any additional charges to check it out.

Their prices are 1 star. They replaced the battery on my car (which was old and likely needed replacing) but it ended up being an alternator failure. They quoted me at $1600 for a new alternator. Upon doing some googling the National average replacement cost is $650-975. I called our local mechanic (who has a longer wait time) and they quoted us at $900. So their prices are almost double! We are obviously bringing it to the other place to get the work done. Even if you have to pay a tow truck to get your vehicle elsewhere you will probably save money. Make sure you get quotes elsewhere before agreeing to any large service quotes here.

Great service! They respected what I told them I believed was wrong with my AC system (from my previous research) and they ended up replacing that faulty part. They stayed in constant communication with me through text messages, and the work was done fast and most importantly at the price I was quoted. I didn’t require any of the extras, such as the shuttle service, but it’s cool that it was an available option. I highly recommend Christian Brothers for your auto repair needs.
