My trusty Basset Hound Alice and I travel our beautiful USA each summer in my restored VW WESTFALIA; have been for 30 years. Of course piloting such an old car can be somewhat problematic at times.

Case in point: I live in the state of Washington and decided I wanted to visit Key West, a place that was always on my bucket list but a place I never got to. 2024 was my year for such a trip.

Triple digit temperatures, torrential downpours, flooding, crazy humidity, and 8,000 miles later didn't phase the little VW. However, neglected and overlooked wheel bearings did.

Enter Belleair Auto Care in Belleair Bluffs Florida. An auto repair shop that on any given day you'll find, classic cars, imports, exotics, and everyday drivers lining their lot.

When I called and spoke with Don the shop manager, he assured me he would check into parts availability and get back to me in 10 minutes. After all, finding anything for a 1988 VW WESTFALIA is a tricky proposition. To my surprise he phoned me back with not only good news about the parts but told me to get it in first thing in the morning and they'd begin doing the repairs. Even had a preliminary repair estimate for me. All within the 10 minutes he promised. Amazing!!!

Within 2 days Frank, one of the shops excellent technicians, completed the repairs. He also found a damaged and leaking brake line and fabricated parts to repair it that were no longer available.

But wait, there's more. 4 days into my trip back to Washington, and just coming out of the Ozark Moutains in Arkansas, Tom, the shop owner, reached out to me to check in on their repairs. Who does that now days?

So wake up VW BUS owners, import owners, classic car owners, and everyday drivers. Customer Service is alive and well at Belleair Auto Care.

Took my 03 T-bird to Belleair in March to get it ready for a road trip. Brakes, oil change, and a new rear end. Parts for the retro birds are not always easy to come by but I trusted Belleair as they were able to fix my AC 2 years ago when I bought it. It only took a couple days and price was quite fair (not cheap, but don’t buy an old car if you want cheap, right?). Just got back from my 3,000 mile road trip on the backroads and Natchez Trace Parkway and it was like driving a brand new car! It’s getting close to 100,000 miles on it, but I bought it to enjoy and drive it, not leave in garage. I will always trust Belleair with this car! If you have a retro bird or any car getting on in years, you should trust them with your car as well.

Took my 69 Dodge Dart there to try and get a bunch of things fixed... they had my car for 2 months and fixed nothing, left my car outside in a storm with the hood open outside and my hood got ripped off the hinges and slammed to the ground. They downplayed it over the phone and when I told them I needed my car because I was moving out of state they pushed it until the last day before I moved. The epoxy they used to put my hood back on that never dried and had to tow my car with bungee chords to hold the hood on. Not only do I have a corner chunk missing on my hood and my car is worth less now, there are scratches and epoxy fingerprints everywhere on the hood and they fixed nothing! The only person I talk to every time I call is an angry and defensive guy on the phone and promises the owner will call and never does, even on my bad review over 2 months ago the owner said they would make it right... it's been 4 months and nobody has tried to get ahold of me. Even got an estimate to fix the hood for $1800 and even said I'll cover $600 of it and still no response. Terrible company, terrible employees, and even worse owner.... you all should be ashamed. DON'T take your car here!!!

This is a trustworthy, fair priced automotive shop. For European cars as well. They have seen me through my old BMW and now my new/used one. They do great before auto purchase inspections and fantastic maintenance/repair work. Highly recommended. Actually already sent a family member there recently and they were most happy!!

Just had my car at Belleair Auto Care. I'm embarrassed to say that I absentmindedly added some windshield washer fluid to my coolant system. Tom checked it out and advised that I should be ok, as it was only a small amount. He charged me nothing to look at it.
It's nice to have a trustworthy auto technician! I highly recommend this business, and look forward to doing business with them in the future.
