They are above and beyond the best mechanics, the only downside is that there's not much room for that many cars so there is a bit of a wait for you to drop off your car. There's no attempt to fix things that aren't broken, or upsale you as I've experienced at other mechanics and dealer service departments. They are fair in their dealings and are professional & friendly in every interaction I have had with them. Plus occasionally there's a chill dog that hangs out there and you can pet it, the dog is not there every day.

As long as you can deal with waiting for a couple of days, it's the best mechanic in New Haven.

NOT ANYMORE

This was from 4 years ago and I've been using them for all my auto mechanic needs since. In the last year they must be losing money or something, they give me an estimate and each time I show up it's $75-$100 more than the estimate. When questioned about the difference you get an attitude.

Please be aware of estimates for work isn't accurate and could be a lot more than said. This has now happened multiple times.

Aquila Motors is an absolutely phenomenal mechanic! Incredibly friendly service, and their work is as high quality as it is efficient. I’ve taken my ‘05 Subaru there several times, and despite me worrying that my car was on its last legs, Aquila has consistently pulled through and made it possible for me to not only keep driving it, but for it to drive better than ever.
They’re honest, they’re nice, and they’re outstanding mechanics all around in my experience. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

They've taken excellent care of both my vehicles when they've needed repair and maintenance. And the shop dog, Huckleberry works very hard to greet customers.

The shop charges an arm and a leg for labor and parts. They charged 130 dollars per hour for diagnostic time, and charged 120 to 130 dollars per hour for labor to change brakes. It takes them 2 hours to change brakes and an hour for diagnostic time, so multiply that. The parts themselves are marked up , i.e. the price is double the price of a regular auto parts store - there are no deals here. After paying close to a thousand dollars I came home with an engine light on. The only thing they price reasonably is an oil change, which they did not even do. There is nothing exceptional here, only exceptionally feeling ripped off. The brakes feel soft, not firm. The good ratings are misleading. Should have read the bad ratings, they seem accurate.

I had a 2011 Hyundai Sante Fe.I brought me car here and spoke with Tom Jr. He told me what was wrong and I thought fixed it. I waited several days till I called. They were gonna work on it and my car will be available soon. I picked my car up and started to drive it when it cut off in me again. I called and left messages for Tom and never received phone call back. My warranty was charged almost $1800 for a problem that didn't get fixed. If your too busy to have good customer service just tell the customer at that time . Since then my truck sits. I had a good mechanic at Amity Mobile but our friend past away. If your looking for honesty and good customer service look elsewhere unless your driving a luxury car.

Recently had my front axle replaced for my Acura TL. As a first time customer, I was treated like VIP. Tom answered all my questions and kept me updated as the mechanics worked on my car. Fairly priced. Job well done by his team. Very professional and reliable. Communication is never an issue. Safe to say I have found a permanent auto repair shop here in New Haven and no doubt I will be coming back here for future services. Highly recommend!
